Lütfü Savaş bombarded Ekrem İmamoğlu over "fake diploma": You haven't even won ÖSYM yet

The debates that flared up after the decision to hold a preliminary election to determine the presidential candidate in the CHP reached a fever pitch with the statements of Lütfü Savaş. Former Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor from the CHP, Lütfü Savaş, filed a lawsuit in the Civil Court of First Instance for the cancellation of the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress, which was held on November 4-5, 2023.

FAKE DIPLOMA INVESTIGATION AGAINST IMAMOGLU

While the echoes of the dubious congress crisis continue, this time a primary election crisis has erupted in the CHP. A "fake diploma" investigation was launched against IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who imposed a primary election for his presidential candidacy and thus wanted to prevent Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş from making a possible presidential candidacy move.

FINDINGS FROM YÖK ON THE FAKENESS OF THE CERTIFICATE

In response to the tip-off, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office wrote a warrant to the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in December 2024 to examine the validity of Ekrem İmamoğlu's diploma. In the response letter from YÖK regarding the prosecutor's warrant, it was stated that there were findings regarding the forgery of İmamoğlu's diploma.

INVESTIGATION FOR FORGERY OF OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS

Thereupon, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation against Ekrem İmamoğlu for "forgery of official documents." On February 26, the prosecutor's office sent İmamoğlu a summons to give a statement to the prosecutor's office.

CHP's Lütfü Savaş bombarded Ekrem İmamoğlu on a live broadcast program he attended over the fake diploma investigation. Savaş said, "You say you will be a presidential candidate, but you also failed to win the ÖSYM, you cannot speak before me."
